Community & safety

Practical ways to protect yourself, set boundaries and report a concern on Toba.

Last updated October 21, 2026

A respectful place to meet

Toba is for adults aged 18 and older seeking connections in the Coptic Christian community. Shared faith does not remove the need for care, consent or personal boundaries. No dating app can guarantee another person’s intentions.

Read our Community Guidelines, Child Safety Standards and photo verification explanation.

Report or block

Use the options on a member’s profile or conversation to report a concern or block contact. Describe what happened accurately and include relevant details. Blocking and reporting serve different purposes: block to stop further contact; report to bring a concern to Toba’s attention.

If you cannot use the in-app controls, email support@tobadating.com with the subject “Toba safety report.” We may review relevant account information and content and take action under our community rules. Do not send illegal imagery or unnecessary intimate material.

If a decision about your own account seems wrong, contact support and ask for review. A report does not guarantee a particular enforcement result or immediate response.

Protect your information and money

  • Keep your home address, work routines, sign-in codes and financial information private.
  • Do not send money, gift cards or cryptocurrency to someone you have met through a dating app. Treat investment offers and urgent financial stories as warning signs.
  • Be cautious with unfamiliar links or anyone pushing you to leave the app immediately.
  • A verification badge, familiar church connection or religious language is not proof of trustworthiness.

Meet on your terms

  • Take time to get to know someone. You can decline a conversation or meeting without explaining yourself.
  • Choose a public place for early meetings, arrange your own transport and tell someone you trust your plans.
  • Stay in control of your belongings and personal information. Leave if you feel uncomfortable.
  • Consent must be freely given and can be withdrawn. Respect a refusal, an unmatch or a block.

What Toba’s tools can and cannot do

Photo verification checks a live selfie against a profile photo. It is not an age, legal-identity, religion or criminal-background check. It cannot guarantee safety.

The release being prepared includes automated checks of profiles, photos and messages, alongside reporting and moderation tools. Automated checks can miss harmful material or incorrectly flag acceptable content. Use report or support when something needs attention.

Toba is not an emergency-response service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
